"It's a wonderful feeling to know that a pair of glasses can improve a person's self-esteem and change their daily life".

Meet the founder of beauty through the lens, ms. Moriah Pye, a girl scout gold award nominee with an interest in GLOBAL diversity and a passion for service.  â€‹

Hello! My name is Moriah Pye and I am from Minnesota, USA with a love for art, service, and learning about different cultures around the world. As a girl scout and leader of the international club at my school, I have the opportunity to affect change in my community and others, as well. Through my Silver Star Award Initiative, I was able to bring together my community members in Minnesota to help plant a vegetable garden. However, for my Gold Star Project, I aim to reach further and address an issue that is rarely talked about: visual impairment. This topic was inspired by seeing the number of glasses in the lost and found basket in my church. More often than not, we take for granted our access to eye doctors and resources in the United States. In some developing communities, in places such as Senegal, West Africa, a pair of glasses can make all the difference in a person's life. I want to raise awareness of the lack of access to eyecare resources in developing communities and the common eye disorders that occur when these resources are not available to people.
